Welcome to the homepage of STREET BOWLING CLUB. The Club was established in 1922 and moved to it's current green at the Victoria Field in 1985. Street Bowling Club forms a section within the Victoria Sports and Social Club and is affiliated to both the Somerset County Bowling Association and Bowls England.
The Club provides facilities for the learning, practicing and playing of all Lawn Green Bowls and is open to players of all abilities and particularly those who are new to the game from late April until early September.
Members are able to choose how often and to what degree of competitiveness they wish to play. We enter teams in various mens, ladies and mixed leagues besides many freindly matches within the same disciplines. Opportunities are available to enter Club, county and National Competitions. Monday evenings are devoted to Club Nights where members get the chance to relax, practice in a friendly but competitive way and learn new skills.
2007 proved a very successful year with the Mens 'A' team winning all games in their league and gaining promotion to the Somerset County League premier 2 for 2008. Besides this league Mens teams are entered in County League Division 2(South and West) and the Mid Somerset League. The Ladies enter the Mendip League and a Mixed team contest the Mid Somerset Mixed League.
To maintain the social nature of Lawn Green Bowling many friendly matches are played during the season against local rivals and we host several touring teams. Opportunities exist to enter Club, County and National Competitions in all disciplines of the game.
